In the Bible, Mark 16:15 says “Go into the all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.”  Providing a safe place for ALL children to learn about Jesus and grow closer to Him is our highest priority.

Children ages Pre-Kindergarten through 6th grade with special needs are provided a “buddy” to help them navigate our programs and ministries—all while growing in a relationship with Christ in a safe and accepting environment. The spirit of the Buddy Ministry is one of inclusion.

We focus on each individual’s ability—not their disability. We strive to create a space that meets the specific learning and social needs of each child and work with each family to ensure a safe and positive experience.

REQUEST A BUDDY

Complete the Buddy Ministry Intake Form so that we can better meet your child’s needs and individualize a program for them. Once your forms are completed, someone will contact you, within 48 hours, regarding the next steps for your family’s worship experience.

BE A BUDDY

Join our team of trained leaders who feel called to serve our families with children with special needs.  In addition to our regular orientation/training process for Children’s Ministry servants, you’ll receive additional training to help you feel empowered, set you up for success and equip you to serve.  If you feel God calling you to serve in this ministry, email children@rumc.org.

Join us EVERY fourth Saturday of each month at 6:00pm in Kirsch Hall for a relaxed, unique worship service specifically designed for individuals with special needs. We understand that people with special needs often do not feel welcome, or comfortable, in traditional worship settings. So we strive to make Joyful Noise an enjoyable experience for all! All ages are welcome to attend and join us in simple worship songs, a brief lesson, prayer and have a place where they can connect with Jesus. This is such a special service we offer and we hope you can make some time to experience it for yourself.
